Savebig .com has worthless bid items

I joined savebig in April 2011 and purchased a large bid package. I bid on many things and won or bought 3 gift card packages worth a total of slightly more than the bids I purchased. I received the gift cards promptly so I was satisfied. Beginning June 2011 I decided to purchase more bids but before I did I checked out the website auctions. I found nothing but junk offered and in my opinion not worth bidding on so I did not purchase any bids. I contacted customer service to ask why they were not putting up anything worth bidding on. They said they were changing the website and would have it corrected in 48 hours. It has now been 2 weeks and still only junk is offered to bid on. My advice stay away from this website.

Savebig .com is a garbage website.

I won many goods and paid the shipping fee to place the orders. One month has passed since I place the order. I contacted the customer service to ask why they could not ship the goods that I placed the order. They only added some bids to my account. I email them many times and got nothing.

This is a trickish website. Noone will touch it.

Guest

Yea same thing with us we bought 1 $10 giftcard and got it went to bid more and there has been nothing but complete garbage to bid on. We also agree with the bids because of no warning, and with the giftcards we thought we'd give it a try but now theres nothing.

That was at the end of April also. STAY AWAY, WHAT A SCAM.

Kenith Qcg

I am prety sure this is the same guys who ran Xbids last year and shut down the site without notice and not refunding any monies in the accounts. I wouldn't touch this and for sure wouldn't give them a penny.

Guest

I have had the same experience. Emailed them, they said they were up dating site.

Foolishly believed them and purchased more bids.

Now I have useless bids..and notice not very many active bidders. I would be happy to get $ i spent for bids back,,

RIP OFF CITY!!!!!!

I called SaveBig within a few minutes of making an error by inserting my credit card info for registration. It tried to offer me additional credits rather than a refund. I rejected the credits. A conference call was made among Visa, SaveBig and myself wherein SaveBig agreed to credit my VISA account the $99. That was more than a month ago! This is a horrible site and its customer service is even worse. I am now force to have Visa intervene again and it credit my account. I have contacted SaveBig and offer it to refund my money rather than it receiving another negative mark on its Visa account. SaveBig just ignores all my emails. PURCHASER BEWARE!!!!!!!!

Savebig.com is a SCAM

Based on my experience with savebig.com, it is a scam. They charge you $99 for opening an account without informing you. That $99 buys you a "chance" to spend more money on a product if you happen to win an auction (which is virtually impossible without spending way more than money in bids than what the product actually costs if bought at retail price). The customer service is a joke and wont answer any questions (they even claim they're not affiliated with savebig.com and just a third-party). And to top it all off, from what I've read on the internet, those people who actually have won big-ticket items at auction, havent actually received their paid-for products!! In my opinion, this website should be shut down immediately and whoever is running it belongs in prison. This is nothing other that stealing money from people.

things for the info I almost registered an account with savebig

Guest

Thank you so much everyone, I almost register an account.

Guest

Thanks for being so candid everyone this really helps me out. Hopefully I will be one less that gets sucked into the online fraud scams.

Guest

I tried to register with savebig.com to give it a try, but it gave me an error: to choose a bid package. Luckily, before I did anything else, I researched the site online.

I read countless complaints about this company. Several complained that the company charged them even if the registration gave an error and did not go through! Of course, I freaked out and called my credit card right away. It turned out that they had not charged my card.

So, just to be safe, I closed that card # and had another reissued. Even if they try to charge later, they won't be able to.

DON'T TRUST THIS SITE! If you did, call your bank or credit card ASAP!

Guest

I am so glad I did a search and found this site. I WILL NOT be joining savebig.com any time in my life time. :roll

Guest

I am totally wowed and pperaerd to take the next step now.

This website should be SHUT DOWN!

You could not get anything from the website.

They are bandit to cheat the visitor after you pay shipping fee and place order.

Guest

After I bid on, won, and paid for an auction this is what they said:

Dear SaveBig Winner,

At the time of your win, our partner was unfortunately unable to complete your order. You might see the same product currently up for auction even though you were refunded for the same product. We have just recently replaced the supplier and that product is back up for auction.

For any possible confusion regarding this manner, we will add 100 bids to your account.

Thank you,

SaveBig.com

Guest

It's been almost a month and i still havent recieved my product in the mail. I've sent at least 8 emails and made about 5 calls.

This company should be shutdown. I wish i would've saw this blog before i opened an account.

save big is a total scam. these people should be arrested.

they are rigging bids, they also do not ship items that you win.

they absolutely have no contact information that they respond to.i complained by e-mail and had bids i had paid for stolen from my account. stay away and help shut these pigs down.

Guest

:sigh your math is off my friend. 250 bids at .60 is $150. so it would be a good deal if it were not a scam.

Guest

Alright alright alright that's exactly what I nedeed!

Guest

I just visited the scam website of SAVEBIG and noticed an IPAD being auctioned off at 250.00 bids. Do we *** know that each bid is valued at $.60 each?

$1500.00 for an item valued at 499.95? Ay hodido!!!!!!!

SaveBig

I thought I would try the auctions at SaveBig.com However while registering they asked for my credit card information. Foolishly I gave it thinking it was to enable payment when bidding on the auctions. However they charged me $99.. I was not happy about this and apparently many other people were unhappy too. I contacted the company by email and at first they did not want to refund the money and instead offered me some free bids. I did not want this, I just wanted a refund. After several emails the company refunded my money within a week. They were courteous, prompt and also gave me 99 free points to encourage me to use their site. So the problem was resiolved to my satisfaction.

Save big money when you suck mynards!

My complaints are many, but they fall on deaf ears. The poor clerk we *** to makes little money and rightfully so, doesn't care. I can only ask that we as an internet community, boycott. As a contractor and homeowner, I have not saved big money, but rather lost big money when I shopped Manards. How many times can u screw up a delivery... everytime. What do they do to make it right? Nothing. Who do you complain to? Any one. Does it resolve any thing? No. How many words do I have left? Five? Shop at Home Depot.

SaveBig is a total SCAM!!!

SaveBig is a total scam!!! They don't have the items they offer in the bids, you place your bids, waste your money and later if you win or you decide to buy something on the option to buy the items, they just send you an email like this one and you lost your money placing bids for non exisiting items. The real name should be SAVE BIG SCAM!!! Don't waste money on this site, you won't get any items you apparently won. Dear SaveBig winner, We have experienced an unfortunate issue with our partner and are unable to ship your (Item you won or bought). We apologize for this inconvenience, and are extremely upset with our partner. Along with our sincerest apoligizes, we have refunded your purchase price, refunded the bids used toward this auction, and given you 200 free bids. We have dropped this partner and will not have these issues in the future. Thank you, SaveBig.com

It seems like you're misquoting the email this website sent you. You said "...you lost your money placing bids for nonexisting items." However, the email you alledgedly received clearly says, "we have refunded your purchase price, refunded the bids used towards this auction, and given you 200 free bids." It clearly seems to me that you really didn't loose any money as you claimed.

Savebig is no good

It is a fact that savebig.com has alot! of robots that bid up the prices and trap people into bidding and wasting their money when they have to chance to win, because the robots work for the house and have an unlimited amount of cash, and bids. quibids have 10 times as much traffic as them, so how can savebig sell things like an ipad2 for $22,000??? you decide. Just check and see that they dont have enough traffic to bidder ratio to justify how much (real) versus (ficticious) people are spending. IMHO from an industry expert who has seen it all

Hahhaaha. I'm not too bright today. Great post!

Guest

I got an E mail from "Chad" about an IPad I was interested in. Said he bought the IPAD's from

"SaveBIG". Where the heck is the disclosure they were going to hit my account for $99.00?

Then, They have ZERO Products worth bidding on!!!

BillRJ

EBacon...why did SCAMBIG refuse to give me a refund? I didn\'t use ONE bid.

Please explain how your site is not a SCAM. Thanks.

BillRJ

My experience is similar to being a SCAM!!! Read the complaints. My experience is similar.

Guest

I believe the site to be a scam, or at least a rip-off and waste of time based on my experience.

6 hours and $99 worth of bids later, I came away with nothing... even tho I had placed all bids intelligently and strategically and also bid on auctions that were at twice the advertised winning bid amounts.

While watching patterns in others bidding habits, I couldn't help but have the feeling that I was bidding against computers or "bots" not real people with real money.

It's a shame though. I think they have a great idea if the site were legitimate, transparent and well regulated.

Guest

The ned of auction is also a farce. I was watching one item, It was almost ended 50 secnd left and it cost 2.30 USD IPOD Nano. Then each times the clock becomes 00, it rebound to 20 second again and again...

Guest

Also an industry expert, but not convinced they are using robots. These guys are advertising all over the place (time.com,espn.com, etc) and clearly have a big budget.

Check out their traffic numbers in a month or two and they will have caught up I suspect. That said, they are still one of the last sites I would buy bids at (WAAY too much competition).

Screwed in a BIG way

I too got suckered, The lure of free bids without telling you there will be a massive charge for you to actually use them! I "won" a $15 gift card that cost me $100! I have written to them several times and only received a robot response. Sadly I had shared my "win" on facebook before realizing the horror of this company and now several of my good friends are out money as well. I was thinking about not going disputing the charge cause I thought I must have missed something but seeing all this *** they are doing and all the stories match mine....I am fighting it! Maybe BBB as well!

BillRJ

1) Dispute the charges IMMEDIATELY with your credit card company

2) My credit card company asked me to prove that savebig was a scam. I showed them complaints on this site saying the same thing as my complaint, then my credit card company refunded my money.

I was not able to get a refund via savebig reps. They told me that there were no refunds on bids.

Guest

Hi "DanielMarley" as you can see your attempt to assist after I had already spent a large amount of time following what is "the proper channels" and all you did is post 15 days after I posted this and had several failed attempts to get a timely or "legal" response from your "customer support" team. I appreciate the final resolution but lets be honest, it is 100% due to my effort, time and ethics that brought the overall resolution about.

Scuttles L

Sorry Fillup, as soon as I called my bank they had a magic # to call SaveBig, but turns out they are only a contracted call center who can do nothing to assist other than buffer. I hope it works out for you!

Guest

Bought a $50 Home Depot GiftCard on savebig.com and got an email confirmation. Printed the web page and now they want to change it to a $10 Home Depot Gift card. Hope my bank screws them

Guest

Honestly if it was just me I could have let it slide because, yes, clearly I had missed something but like I said I shared my win and several others folks I know ended up in the same spot. We can't all be brilliant scholars and avoid missing a detail here and there or come up with witty advice as you have.

It was the principle of the matter. I tried to contact them several times without a response, hence the "pissed consumer".

Guest

Read before you put your card number, you deserve to be ripped of, :)

Scuttles L

GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!! I got a 100% refund from SaveBig :) It took them a week longer than they promised to respond to my initial complaint, I had to call my bank AND send SaveBig a copy of this complaint, but I got refunded non the less.

They made things right in the end but overall a very unpleasant experiance. :grin :zzz

Scuttles L

So I called my bank and had them go through the registration process with SaveBig and apparently when you are asked by SaveBig to put in your "billing information" there is a box checked that says you have selected a package of bids and once your account info is completed you have unknowing made your purchase.

I get no refund :(

I too won a BID for an iPad 2 on SaveBig. After I won the bid I had to contact SaveBig since I didn't receive any information as to when they would send my iPad2.

1st they said that they were having issues with inventory and then 4 days later sent an email saying that they could no longer supply the iPad2 I purchased. They sucked us all in by advertising TV's and iPads for auction and then pulled them all off.

The only stuff they have on the site now are flea market grade items! Has anyone called a lawyer yet?

BillRJ

Dispute charges with your credit card company. That's how I got my money back.

They are super sneaky!

SAVE BIG IS A HUGE!!!!! FRAUD...SCAM!!!!!

Save Big gives you the impression that you're credit card is used only when you win a bid...not when you're making a bid. Folks...do yourself a favot, unless you feel like sitting for hours upon hours to "maybe" (unlikely) win, you're waisting your time. This site is a complete fraud-they are not clear about the sign up process. In fact, unlike most all other sites, they don't provide you with a check box askin if you've read the Terms and Conditions. In addition the bidding seems to be by people who have an automated bid that occurs when it dips down to 1 second. This site is an absolute fraud/joke/disaster and a class action law suit waiting to happen. And I am certainly going to have them on my radar and will likely lead the charge to see to it that they change thier policies and/or have them shut down!

Well Dan, how come people are told they will only get $49 back and not the full $99. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

SaveBig is a rip off and you know it.

SaveBig is scamming people. Savebig needs to be shut down and those responsible taken to court.

BillRJ

Savebig reps...are you guys trying to fool people? Why don't you write a "satisfaction guaranteed or your money back" statement? Better yet, why is there nothing on SAVEBIG'S website guaranteeing satisfaction?

Why did savebig REFUSE to refund my money? I did NOT use ONE bid!

Why was there not a message stating, "I authorized a charge of $99...click yes to proceed" or similar like Ebay?

Anyone who doubts that they will lose money ought to go to their website. No satisfaction guarantee.

BillRJ

"Save Big gives you the impression that you're credit card is used only when you win a bid.."

EXACTLY!!! That's why I call them the sneakest SCAM going!!!

My advice: RUN from SAVEBIG.COM!!!

Read what the other complaints on this website are telling you. Unlike other legit site that tell you "you are being charged XX dollars...press accept to continue"....I seen nothing of that sort until AFTER I clicked on the NEXT button (or similar button). I did not use ANY bids, yet they refused to refund my money. I finally after a week was granted a refund from my credit card company because I disputed the charges. What a hassle!!! I also did not find anything that I wanted. This site is UNLIKE Ebay! My advice: Stay AWAY from savebig.com.

I won 5 items and only received 4

I won 5 items on savebig.com and only received 4 in the mail. I emailed them at first before i received my 4 items and was told that they have to check with shipping. They then credited me with 30 free bids. Then when I received only 4 out of 5 items in the mail, I emailed them and they wrote back that they will check with upper management. They then upped my bid count up to 170. I don't want to bid anymore I want my missing $25 gift card. Four days later and still no answer from upper management. Class action? Please anyone doing one let me know.

You're one of the lucky ones according to others I heard from. Most get half items they won or less after paying too much for the item via many bids
